Dr Sideq Salleh represented CREST at the AMMI Medtech Professional Certification Program Completion Ceremony for the southern region, celebrating 57 participants who completed the programs in Manufacturing Excellence and Quality Assurance.
Funded by the CREST-managed Upskilling Grant for Aerospace and Medical Devices Industries and delivered in collaboration with Association of Malaysian Medical Industries, the program equipped medical device professionals with vital knowledge and skills to advance the industry.

Malaysia is advancing its tech-driven agenda through the National Semiconductor Strategy, targeting RM500 billion in investments, 10 leading local semiconductor companies, and 60,000 skilled engineers by 2030.
In an interview with The Edge Malaysia, Jaffri Ibrahim, CEO of CREST, emphasises the need to capitalise on Malaysia’s semiconductor strengths while advancing up the value chain into areas like integrated circuit design and home-grown innovation. He stresses that to achieve global leadership, Malaysia must prioritise R&D, foster public-private partnerships, and strengthen academia-industry collaborations to build an ecosystem that enhances existing technologies and pioneers new solutions.
