Digital manufacturing, also known as Industry 4.0 or the Fourth Industrial Revolution, refers to the integration of advanced digital technologies into manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness.

Digital manufacturing, also known as Industry 4.0 or the Fourth Industrial Revolution, refers to the integration of advanced digital technologies into manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness. As Malaysia is a major manufacturing economy, Industry 4.0 is needed to transform the manufacturing sector, and it has been a key focus area in Malaysia in recent years.

The Digital Manufacturing program focuses on Industry 4.0 technologies to drive collaboration and translation of technology for next-generation manufacturing. This program also encompasses advanced and intelligent manufacturing systems, platforms, and infrastructures, as well as vertical and horizontal integration of manufacturing systems, hardware and software.

Program Highlights

CREST had been part of the INDUSTRY4WRD policy during the development and implementation stage. Currently, CREST leads Technical Work Group – Technology as part of INDUSTRY4WRD Technical Work Groups on Funding, Infrastructure, Regulatory, Skills and Technology (FIRST).

CREST has worked with various agencies and universities to develop and promote the Industry 4.0 Experience Center for the proliferation and adoption of Industry 4.0 in Malaysia.

CREST coordinated the first ever INDUSTRY4WRD – Industry 4.0 Technology Week, showcasing solutions, deployment and intellectual property (IP) on Industry 4.0.

CREST is appointed as the Lead Neutral Entity along with Nano Malaysia to lead and drive the Innovation Collaborative Network for Industry 4.0 under Akademi Sains Malaysia.

CREST is helping companies with AI in Manufacturing through various research and development (R&D) and Technical Training programs.
