Smart Cities are urban areas that leverage technology and data to enhance the quality of life for their residents, improve efficiency in various services, and promote sustainability. The concept involves integrating information and communication technology (ICT) into different aspects of city management, such as transportation, energy, healthcare, and governance. The importance and growth of Smart Cities have been significant globally, including in Malaysia. Under the Smart City program, we facilitate and nurture collaboration on IR4.0 and Advanced Digital Technologies in urban and rural services management to uplift the quality of living.
Program Highlights
CREST is a strategic partner in the Penang Smart City initiative and collaborates with Penang State Government and Local Council to prepare for the Smart City outline.
Pilot project for connected streetlights in Penang in partnership with Renesas implemented in Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone and Sains@USM.
Partner with Intel on Industry-University technology innovation challenge on Smart City.
Engaged in the development of System of System or United Operation Control framework for Cyberjaya.
