An Artificially Intelligent Fault Detection System for an Aerial Vehicle
Abstract:
The invention relates to an artificially intelligent fault detection system for an aerial vehicle, the system having one or more accelerometer connectable to a corresponding one or more UAV propeller arm, the one or more accelerometer being operatively connected to a processor-based system; one or more infrared sensor connectable to a corresponding UAV propeller arm, the one or more infrared sensor being in operatively connected to a processor-based system; and a machine-readable code containing a set of instructions for operating the processor-based system, the instructions including: acquiring vibration amplitude values from the one or more accelerometers; determining if the vibration amplitude exceeds a predetermined arm or motor fault threshold value; acquiring propellor rotation per minute values from the one or more infrared sensors; determining if the propellor rotation per minute values exceed a predetermined arm or motor fault threshold value; and generating at least one output signal if an arm fault threshold value has been exceeded.
