Abstract:

The present invention relates to a transfer apparatus for moving a person from one position to another in an automatic manner and without any shearing. The transfer apparatus includes a base frame; two or more primary modules hingedly connected to one another and positionable relative to one another, at least one of the modules being fixed to the base frame; each primary module having a corresponding secondary module adapted to reciprocate laterally relative to the primary module; and each secondary module having a corresponding belt conveyor.
