Malaysian graduate students for a PhD Programme for a PhD course

CREST is seeking FOUR (4) Malaysian graduate students for a PhD programme at University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) under a collaborative programme between two parties.

This is at least a 4-year research PhD course. The PhD candidate will be specialising in electronic and photonic materials specifically under several renowned professors, with Shuji Nakamura, Physics Nobel laureate 2014 among them. UCSB’s materials department is one of the top research departments among US universities. Further information on the electronic and photonic materials department at UCSB can be found here.

Basic Requirements

Candidates should have a strong background in Solid State Physics, Materials Science or Photonics. Shortlisted candidates must meet the acceptance criteria of UCSB and meet any other necessary qualifications as required by United States of America authorities.

Tuition Fees Fully Covered

All students will be provided with full tuition fees, stipend, health insurance and a yearly return air ticket to Malaysia. The research area will involve frequent interaction with CREST’s III-V Epitaxy and LED Chip R&D programme at various Malaysian universities. Upon the completion of this programme, you will be bonded to Malaysia’s epitaxial research and development programme.
