NCIA, CREST In Synergistic Partership To Nurture Local Talent For Penang

CREST signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC) with the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) in October 2021 to nurture and develop high-skilled local talents to meet the demands of the industries in Penang as well as to strengthen its position as a world-class regional technology hub.

The MOC with CREST will see collaborations with renowned multinational companies such as Intel Microelectronics (M) Sdn Bhd and Motorola Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd and with local technology companies such as Orionplex Sdn Bhd, Exiatec Technology Sdn Bhd and Sensoft Technologies Sdn Bhd.

Commenting on the collaboration, our CEO, Jaffri Ibrahim said “The MOC signifies the importance of public-private partnerships in building a pipeline of future ready talent in relation to this region’s industrial and economic landscape. Through joint efforts with academia and industry partners, we will see an increase in the quality of talent that can further contribute to the region’s high-skilled workforce and ultimately propel Malaysia forward in its efforts to compete with highly industrialized nations.”

The synergistic joint effort between NCIA and CREST has also resulted in the launch of the Engineering Software Talent Program (EnSofT) which aims to address the engineering software talent gap in the fields of embedded system, android applications and embedded android operating system.

This program will be a catalyst to other types of high-end training programs to produce industry-relevant talents.
